Car Key Programming FAQs
Can you make a key if I've lost all of them?
Yes, for most makes. We program a new key directly to your car's security system, and we can delete the lost keys so they no longer start the car.

Do I need to bring the car in?
No, for most cars we can come to you anywhere in Perth metro. However, some cars will need to be completed at the workshop in Willetton.

How long does it take?
Spare keys usually take 30 to 60 minutes. All-keys-lost and smart-key jobs can take longer depending on the car.

Is it cheaper than going to the dealer?
In most cases, yes, and usually faster, because we cut and program the key ourselves rather than ordering it through the manufacturer.

Can you delete a lost or stolen key?
Yes. We can remove it from your car's system so it can no longer unlock or start the vehicle.

Transponder Keys
A transponder key has a chip inside that talks to your car's immobiliser. If the chip isn't recognised, the car won't start. These keys usually have no buttons and are common on older vehicles, or as the spare in newer cars. We program new and spare transponder keys for European, Japanese and Korean cars in Perth, including all keys lost.
Remote Keys
A remote key combines a transponder chip with lock and unlock buttons for central locking. If your remote has stopped working, lost its programming or been damaged, we can repair, replace or reprogram it. We also supply and program new remote key fobs for BMW, Mercedes, VW, Audi, Toyota and more, at our Willetton workshop or on site anywhere in Perth.
Comfort Access
Comfort Access, also called Keyless Go, Smart Key or Proximity Key, lets you unlock and start your car with the key still in your pocket. You'll often see a touch sensor on the door handle and a push-start button. We program replacement and spare smart keys for BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Land Rover, Toyota, Lexus and more, even when all keys are lost.
